Hey guys!
I thought of another song I actually did a dance too, it is about suicide. The dance was portrayed as one girl was known for cutting, the rest of us was comforting her, then at the end we reveal we all also cut ( in the dance, not real life) .

Its a very emotionally charged song, but i am not sure its about suicide but more just the act of cutting ones self. I have know people to do this, when i was in montreal, i knew a girl that would pierce her own skin with needles and hang herslef by hooks in her back. It was something that i never really understood then, and even now i think each case is different with people who cut them selves. Its a way to express, to an outsider it seems silly to want to cause pain to oneself but onther other hand if pain is the only feeling that you can feel at the momment the feeling something is better then nothing. Its just really iportant to get to these people who are not feeling any more and help them. Its not a natural state to feel nothing, something is blocking the full spectrum on emotions and energy from flowing. sometimes you can unlock it with just conseling but other times it is a chemical imbalence that needs medicine. This is what interest me the most about psychology, is to talk to people who are worlds different then myself and to try to understand where they are comming from, and to accept them and their beliefs but to work together to find greatness in life what ever that might be for them. word of advice, you know anyone who is cutting them selves, do not run away, do not call them names, do not judge them, just talk to them find out how they are feeling, and if they say they are suicidal take it very seriously, and seek out help for that person. This is the number for help in preventing suicide. 1-800-273-8255
ReplyDeleteI think its very, very health to express your feelings about these kind of subjects creatively.
ReplyDeleteIts definitely easier to get a dialogue going when its more objective anyway.
Where did you preform this at anyway?
I always appreciated groups that are willing to take on edgier subject matter, and its a great bonus when it can provide comfort or get people talking who really need to.
