3 Hikers Presumed Dead
Three hikers were swept over a 317-foot waterfall Tuesday afternoon in Yosemite National Park. Witnesses said they observed the three getting too close to the cold, fast flowing water and urged them to come back to shore, but they refused and was swept over the waterfall. The snowpacks this winter have been larger than normal, resulting in rivers and streams being especially dangerous in the Yosemite and Central California. As usual the family and friends were right there on site watching them take that deadly risk. Afterwards, witnesses said that it was horrible to watch them get swept away. It seems to me like the risk is only worth it if we put it all on the line. Children, women, men, everyone watched it and was in shock. It doesn't matter where we go or what we're doing, death is ever present.

Personally, I think it is not smart to put your self in risky situations. Just like you just stated, "death is ever present" so why actively seek it? I'm not saying that people should lock themselves in their houses and never experience life and just live like a hermit, just to minimize the risks you take. I don't know, maybe I just act old, I just don't think it's smart to do most things that people do that end up in death. You just have to be really cautious in life I believe.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Ashley, I am also very careful when it comes to risky situations. Since I became a mother I am more protective and alert about my surroundings. Yosemite is a very beautiful place to go to but you must always be careful. Even just getting to the park can be a scary ride. It is sad that these people lost their lives and that children witnessed this.
