  1. I wasn't shocked to hear that she died, but I was sad. She was very opened about her drug addiction and how she wasn't going to go to rehab. Her family stated that they weren't shocked they knew that this day was coming. It's sad because she was very young and had a whole life ahead of her; it just comes to show that drugs can ruin someone's life. In an article they said that she has now joined the 27 club.

  2. Like pretty much everyone else on the planet I was not really surprised by this. Sometimes it seems like the tragic, doomed icons are what connects most of our society to death. With medicine, sanitation and safety efforts many people can go most of their lives with out seeing a death. I see the Any Winehouses, Kurt Cobains ect as the ties and examples we might otherwise lack when trying to understand our own mortality.

  3. Im not sad by this death, she was not a good role model, she did not deal with life very well, she wated great talent trying to get high and stoned and drunk, she probably hurt her family very much with her destructive ways. She wasnt happy or satisfied with life, hence the use of drugs and alchaol.Im glad she died now she can find peace and try again at life.

  4. While the death of Amy Winehouse is a very sad occasion, I think her death is being used as an example of what happens when you use drugs. I know the results of the autopsy are inconclusive, but from what people in Winehouse’s innermost circle say it’s most likely that drugs played a part in her untimely death. This example of a celebrity death, like some others in the past, brings up issues related to drug and alcohol abuse which are sometimes not spoken of in our society. The fact that Amy Winehouse was a music artist that died at the age of 27 was also a popular topic in the media. Many other notorious musicians like Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin died at the age of 27, forming the “27 Club” which Amy Winehouse is now included in. This “27 Club” has brought up a lot of superstition surrounding deaths of younger musicians in the Hollywood circle. How does anyone else feel about death superstitions like the “27 Club”?
The fact still remains that Amy Winehouse died young and too early in her upcoming career. She was very unique in the music world and there won’t be another one like her.
