Alive in the morgue

After class today i was extremely intrigued to see how many people are actually reported dead that are in fact alive. Surprisingly there were several incidents reported with individuals that were alive when placed in the morgue. That would be an experience to wake up to after a nap; in Ireland there was a man however that was accidently pronounced dead at the hospital and then transferred to the morgue. On the hospitals side that is complete negligence, and I do not understand how any sane doctor could not tell whether their patient was dead or alive. The story is very interesting and I have placed the link below if you would like to check it out. The funny part of the story is when they went to transfer him to the morgue is when they found out he was indeed still alive. Shortly after this incident the man was released from the hospital to come home. Talk about a near death experience...

  1. Wow, that must've been scary, yes I agree with you how could any doctor make that big of a mistake. It seems scary to me, I wouldn't want to be one who is pronounced death, and then buried alive. I can only imagine what the family went through because of this....sad.

  2. This will give anybody the creeps. In the 18th and 19th centuries safety mechanisms and practices were used to prevent this. I believe it was because of the Cholera epidemic. It is why they invented the safety bell. Hence the term "saved by the bell"
