Hi Everyone,
This is a song we danced to when I was younger at my dance studio when a close friends nephew died. This is a beutiful song, that illustrates a softer and peaceful side of death.
Hello Halley! The song is beautiful, but I think the idea of dancing in your studio to honor the death of your friend's nephew is even more beautiful. Was this dance set up to comfort your friend or as a way of sharing grief in your studio for a mutually known person? Either way, I think the way you all comforted one another and your friend is wonderful and I thank you for sharing this personal information; very lovely. - Devon
Hi Devon, actually the girl who lost her nephew did not know we were going to perform this dance, at our annual recital, we opened with this dance and dedicated it to Micah, her nephew. She was very touched!
Halley, This song is beautiful. It is a song that I have listened to since I was a young girl. From what I have read about this song, it was not written by Celine Dion, but she did sing the French version to her niece while she was dying of Cystic Fibrosis in 1993. Celine then recorded the song on her next album that was released in 1996. I'm sure that this song helps Celine remember her niece, and it also helps others coping with the loss of a child, young relative, etc. Thank you for posting it. I was going to post this song, but then saw that you had already posted it.
